Elevate your Insta game

Serious question: if you don’t post pics, did the trip even really happen? Every corner of Manitou Springs holds a story—and that story is just waiting to be captured through your perspective. Whether you’re in it for the selfie or you prefer to stay behind the lens, we’ve narrowed our favorite shots to 6 picture-perfect spots that’ll make your Insta feed the envy of all your followers!

Double Feature: The views of the gorge from Cave of the Winds are just as epic as the views from within the cave!

#1. Cave of the Winds

It’s hard not to snap an epic shot inside Cave of the Winds—but if you’re looking for something particularly dramatic, we suggest going on the Haunted Lantern Tour. Dark silhouettes backlit by the glow of a single, candlelit lantern will bring the eerie feel of the cave to life in your feed.

#2. Garden of the Gods

A hop, skip and a jump from Manitou, Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs is a can’t-miss on your photo tour. Sure, you’ll get a photo of Balanced Rock and the famous Kissing Camels. But to really capture the grandeur of Garden of the Gods, shoot with a wide angle from a higher elevation—like High Point Overlook.

Reservations are required to hike the Manitou Incline—so be sure to book your day

#3. Manitou Incline

For those in “peak” shape  (see what we did there), the Manitou Incline is most awe-inspiring early in the morning—when it’s just you and those 2,744 steps. Wait until you reach above the clouds—then look back. The perfect shot will be waiting for you. Looking for a more gentle hike? Stop by the Visitor Center for other picture-perfect ideas.

#4. The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway

You can’t go wrong with any photo of (or from) the Cog Railway. The 9-mile route to the summit will take you through Pike National Forest, along Ruxton Creek and past a striking waterfall. But a shot from the summit is hard to beat.

#5. Cheyenne Spring

You don’t want to miss even 1 of the 8 mineral springs hidden around Manitou—but we love a good photo op at Cheyenne Spring. The peek-through fountain makes the perfect frame for your next IG post.

#6. Downtown manitou springs

Whether it’s a detail shot of a lamp post or a mineral spring—or a wide angle to capture as much of the charm of this town as possible—a sunset photo of downtown Manitou is the perfect, final shot to round out your trip (and your feed).
