“Many Shades of Brown” and “Plenty of Color”

​First Friday September 1st, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m. Show runs September 1st through October 2nd. Commonwheel is pleased to kick off the fall art season with, “Many Shades of Brown”, &, “Plenty of Color”, from master wood worker Thomas Conter and painter Susan Tormoen.“Many Shades of Brown”, explores the full range of Thomas Conter’s wood creations over the last seven years, all with turquoise inlay, which is his signature design. Included will be tables: console, accent, and end, as well as, plant stands, wall clocks, charcuterie boards, a wall mounted coat rack, 3D wall art, etc. These are unique pieces that are both functional and beautiful. Each piece has been crafted from ethically sourced wood and is a one-of-a-kind work of art. “Plenty of Color”, brings you beautiful landscape paintings from Susan Tormoen. Susan is a Colorado Springs artist, educated in Philosophy at Carleton College and Lake Forest College. She work in pastels, oils and woven tapestries. This collection brings to you her most recent paintings, slightly abstract, and especially concerned with color. Susan is a signature member of Pikes Peak Pastel Society.
