“Gail Murphy, Colorado’s Rosie the Riveter”

March 11, 2020••• Wednesday 7:00pm-8:00pm ••• “Gail Murphy, Colorado’s Rosie the Riveter” The Pikes Peak Library District celebrates Women’s History Month and the Manitou Springs Heritage Center hosts a presentation by Gail Beaton.  Join the Pikes Peak Library District and the Heritage Center as we welcome Gail Murphy, Colorado’s Rosie the Riveter, as portrayed by author and historian Gail Beaton. Gail developed the character of Gail Murphy to help to portray women’s war work and the home front during World War II.  This 35-45 minute presentation is followed by a question and answer session. Learn about Gail, Rosie, women’s contributions to the World War II effort, and make your very own We Can Do It button! Gail will also have copies of her book(s) available for purchase.
