The Pikes Peak Ascent and the Pikes Peak Marathon take running to a whole new level. It starts out like most races on a street in Anywhere, USA. After your first left turn, your next direction is up! Over the next 10 miles of the race, you gain almost 6000 ft of altitude and your lungs, legs, heart, and mind will be put to the ultimate test. It’s the last 3 miles of the race with still over 2000ft of altitude to climb where you realize that this marathon is America’s ultimate challenge. The average runner takes 30 minutes or more to cover a single mile.
Registration opens mid-March for the August race. Visit our website for dates and registration information.
