Difficulty: Moderate

A 6.52 mile out and back trail located in North Cheyenne Cañon. Parts of the trail follow North Cheyenne Creek, passing through towering ponderosa pines and steep cliffs and mountains. This moderate hike is appropriate for all skill levels and has amenities for hikers, mountain bikers. Dogs on a leash are allowed on the trail.

Trailhead Directions: Travel south about 0.35 mi. from I-25 (S. Nevada Street exit) and turn west (right) onto W. Cheyenne Blvd. Then continue 2.75 mi. to the 3-way intersection of N. Cheyenne Canon Road, S. Cheyenne Canon Road, and Evans Ave. You can park at the Starsmore Discovery Center (the Discovery Center will be on your right and the main Discovery Center parking lot will be on your left). If you prefer, you can take a right turn at the 3-way intersection onto North Cheyenne Canon Road where there is also a small parking area on the right side of the road. If you choose to start at the Mid or Upper Columbine trailheads, take a right at the three-way intersection onto North Cheyenne Canon Road. Head up the canyon to the appropriate (small) parking areas which will be marked with trailhead signs (Mid or Upper Columbine trailheads).
