The Winners Are In!
Every year local businesses prepare for another month of Skeleton Craze. Each participating business decorates a skeleton in their storefront. We always kick off Arts Month in the Pikes Peak region with this event and continues to be a great way to support local businesses and organizations. The streets of Manitou Springs came alive with spine-chilling creativity during the annual Skeleton Craze, and it’s time to unveil our spooky champions.

Congratulations to Last Years Winners!
As we said goodbye to the spookiest month of the year, our team of judges hit the streets to find the best skeleton window displays in Manitou Springs. Businesses competed for bragging rights in the 2022 edition of the Manitou Springs Skeleton Craze presented by the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce and Ace Hardware Store.
Our judges this year consisted of Kathy Minch, Sallie Knox Hall, and Annie Schmitt, who all have been previous judges. The judges scored the displays based on Creativity, Best Theme, and Overall Appearance.
1st Place — The Manitou Art Center
2nd Place — Manitou Springs Real Estate
3rd Place — Mountains West
Best First Time Business — Toasted
In addition to our top 3 skeleton displays selected by our judges, we also made you the judge in our People’s Choice vote. The People Choice vote was tallied based on 300+ digital and write in votes.
People’s Choice Winner — Mountains West
First place will receive a $250 Gift Card, second place a $100 gift card, a $50 gift card for third, and a $100 gift card for our People’s Choice winner, all from Ace Hardware Store. This year’s new category, best first time business, receives a six-person wine tasting party from Manitou Winery.
This year’s enthusiasm and effort by participants truly helped make this competition fun and exciting. Some honorable mentions include: Green Horse Gallery, La Henna Boheme, The Hemp Store/Escape Manitou, and Mountain High Gallery and Gifts. People’s Choice favorite scary movie is tied between Halloween and The Shining.
