Talk features Don Sanborn, a local runner, racer, mountaineer and historian. He’s also the only person who has raced in the Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb, run the Pikes Peak Marathon and climbed with the AdAmAn Club.

His presentation will cover the evolution of skiing on Pikes Peak from 1929-1984.

The exhibit showcases historic photographs on loan from the Colorado Snowsports Museum in Vail. Due to the efforts of the Pikes Peak Ski Club and Don Lawrie, the club’s first president (and Sanborn’s grandfather), ski areas like the Pikes Peak Ski Area and Ski Broadmoor were successful for many years while other ski areas were planned, but never operational.
