At The Manitou Art Center (MAC): “The Inward Gaze: Magic & Mystery of the Archetype,” a solo exhibition of intricate collage images by artist Robyn Sean Peterson. These intensely detailed images are created from hundreds of individual, hand-cut paper fragments taken from sources such as magazine and catalog clippings.
Peterson sees his work as a form of mystical realism emanating from the archetypal world of the Collective Unconscious, an expression of revelation rather than outer observation, that explores states of spiritual and psychological awareness. The opening evening will include specially created soundscapes to accompany these dynamic images.
“The MAC is proud to showcase the work of Robyn Sean Peterson, as this show is in line with our mandate to promote local, high-quality art,” says Dustin Booth, the General Manager. “Peterson is a unique talent, with a Jungian vision in the way we relate to one another.”
