In January, Good Karma Café founding owners Kelly and Gary Myers sold the cafe to Manitou Springs couple and Good Karma regulars, Reinaldo “Rey” Figueroa and Cindy Frankmore. Cindy is a special education teacher and enthusiastic baker. Rey is a certified massage therapist and a professional tennis coach who worked in the landscape industry for over 20 years.
During their travels around Colorado, Rey and Cindy admired the small comfortable bakeries and coffee shops they would visit and thought they would love to run bakery.
“When I heard Good Karma was looking for new owners, I was excited. This might be a good fit!” said Cindy.
“After talking with Kelly and Gary, we knew we could make this work. We really wanted to keep much of Good Karma the way it is,” she said.
Since the purchase, they’ve updated some exterior lighting and made some changes small changes to the bar area, but the Good Karma ambiance remains…warm and welcoming.
“We’re keeping the same menu, employees and the look and feel of the place.” said Rey.
“Our goal is for Good Karma to be known for good coffee and cocktails, local music and performing arts, as well as a gathering place for the community,” Rey said.
Stop in Good Karma for one of Cindy’s homemade sticky buns and introduce yourself. They are open 7am-3pm, Everyday of the week except Tuesday. Locals night is from 5:30-9:00 PM. As summer approaches, Good Karma will stay open later into the evening.
